(SSSPJ), Is basically a composite of various literary and cultural organisations in the UK.
This organisation was born in 2009 to accelerate the propagation of Bengali literature and culture in this multinational society by creating unity and bridging between the Bengali literature and cultural activities in uk. Shortly after its formation, the 'Bangla Academy Book Fair and Cultural Festival' was organised on 11, 12 and 13 July 2010 at the Brady Art Center in East London.
Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan, Director General of the Bangla Academy, came from Bangladesh to attend the book fair and cultural festival organised by the Sammilito Shaittya Sangskritik Parishad and under the patronage of literary and cultural activists from all over the world, including London. Literary-journalist and columnist Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury inaugurated the event. Apart from Bangla Academy, other well-known publishing houses participated in the fair. The 'Bangla Academy Book Fair and Cultural Festival' is being held in London every year under the auspices of Sammilita Sangskritik Parishad.
The launch of the Bangla Academy's Expatriate Writers' Award was a landmark initiative of the Bangla Academy in 2011 centered on the Bangla Academy Book Fair and Cultural Festival. Since then Bangla Academy has been giving this award every year. Among the British writers who have received this award are: Kader Mahmud, Dr. Masud Ahmed, Saleha Chowdhury, Ishaq Kajal, Faruque Ahmed. In 2015, the award was named Syed Waliullah Award. Since then, the award has been given to Manju Islam, Shamim Azad, Sagufta Sharmin Tania and Mujib Irom.
In 2015, the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh renamed the Bangla Academy Book Fair as 'Bangladesh Book Fair, Literary and Cultural Festival' to promote Bengali literature and culture abroad.
Thus this festival is organised every year.
The Bangladesh Book Fair, Literary & Cultural Festival has been organised since 2010, with the help and financial support from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
Since 2010 a number of famous personalities attended the Bangladesh Book Fair, Literary & Cultural Festival, for example :

Book Fair, Literary & Cultural Festival has been based in the East London, the first home of the Bengali community in the United Kingdom. It is still home to the largest Bengali Community in the Europe and has one of the largest Bengali youth population among all the Asian ethnic communities in London. The Bangladesh Book Fair, Literary & Cultural Festival is not restricted to the people of East London or Bengali only. One of the aim of the Bangladesh Book Fair, Literary & Cultural Festival is to promote community relations and better racial harmony between the different people from the various ethnic groups who reside in London.
The main aim of The Bangladesh Book Fair, Literary & Cultural Festival is to promote Bengali language, literature and culture. We are anticipating that a large number of individuals, including writers, journalists, teachers, students, celebrities and cultural activists from the UK and other parts of the world. This event will include book launching, seminars, discussion meetings and cultural programme.
Hence the Bangladesh Book Fair, Literary & Cultural Festival , London— participating publishers/publications including the Bangla Academy, National Book Centre, Utsa Prokashan, Anindya Prokash, Shobdoshoily, Porijat Prakashani, Ahmed Publishing House, Katha Prokash,, Nalanda Publications, Ananya Prokashoni, Anarjo Publications, Agamee Prakashani, Annyprokash, Moawla Brothers, Muktadhara, Ittadi Grontho Prokash, Panjeree Pblications ltd etc. from Bangladesh.
Due to the epidemic of corona virus in the world, it was not possible to organise 'Bangladesh Book Fair Literary and Cultural Festival' in 2020 and 2021. This time, according to the decision of the executive committee, the 10th Bangladesh Book Fair Literary And Cultural Festival will be organised in London on 23 and 24 July 2022.
